Serena was born mistrustful. Where life provided opportunities, she saw only obstacles. Not being able to see the brightness, she got used to the dark. And skepticism was her kind of dark. There were nuances to it, as there are with all of us and our embracement of various isms. The night she first felt a bright glimmer of doubt piercing into her skepticism, as her diary entry suggests, was the night she first heard 01.

As the rhythmic pulse of 01 echoed through the labyrinthine corridors of my mind, it was pulling me deeper into a void. With each thumping beat, I felt my soul tremble, like a ship lost at sea, uncertain of its course. The spiritual moments I sought had arrived, but with them came an unsettling surge of self-doubt and fear. The mind wouldn’t let go.

The reverberating echoes seemed to mock my fragile understanding of reality, unraveling the familiar threads of perception, and leaving me adrift in a sea of questions. Was I truly prepared to confront the hidden truths that lay behind the façade of my skeptic existence?
I closed my eyes, surrendering to the soundscape that surrounded me. In the darkness, celestial visions unfolded, blurring the lines between the tangible and the abstract. I saw myself as a cosmic wanderer, a mere speck in the grand tapestry of time and space. Questions arose like shooting stars, illuminating the vastness of the unknown.
Doubts clawed at the edges of my mind. What if the very fabric of reality rejected my feeble attempts to grasp its enigmas? Who am I? What is my purpose in this intricate dance of existence? Such questions seemed insignificant against the backdrop of the infinite, yet their pursuit ignited a fire within me, fanned by the noisy ambience of the song. The intricate sound textures seemed to laugh at my bewilderment in subtle nuances, while the relentless rhythm was reminding me of my insignificance in the face of the cosmos.
With each beat, I delved deeper, shedding layers of ego and self-doubt. The music was helping me to let go. I was no longer a mere observer; I was a participant in the spectacle of shattering the (self-)imposed boundaries and membranes. It was in those glimpses of serenity that I sensed the interconnectedness of all things—the harmonious symphony that binds every being in the universe.
The concept of time disintegrated, leaving behind an eternal now. In this state of transcendence, space lost its shape as if it’d been disintegrated by the noisy textures of the song. The dub essence of the song beckoned me forward, encouraging me to embrace the shock and fear of the unknown with open arms.
As the last beats echoed into silence, I opened my eyes. Though doubt still lingered like a specter in the background, I welcomed it as an integral part of my quest for truth. I had tasted the sublime, and while the residues of shock lingered on my palate, so did the sweetness of the insight. Lifted by this promise of enlightenment, I embarked on a new path of exploration— a journey into the depths of the soul, fueled by the echoes of the sublime…
